BasePoint regularly undertakes manual traffic counts using our experienced survey supervisors and our pool of highly skilled enumerators who are familiar with all types of manual survey from volumetric to full vehicle type classification.

BasePoint Data has access to an extensive stock of Metrocount 500 traffic counters enabling us to cater for almost any customer requirement for traffic count data. Speed, volume, classification or vehicle by vehicle data can be supplied.

We offer our clients a range of data analysis services or we can simply provide the raw data for your own individual analysis.

BasePoint has access to a large number of radar traffic counters. These offer a reliable alternative to the traditional ATC loop based system of automatic traffic counter. Since these units require no loops or tubes to be installed across the carriageway they allow a more covert approach to data collection so that the results will be more representative of the actual traffic flow.

BasePoint Data regularly undertakes surveys for clients using hand held radar speed guns to obtain speed measurements on a variety of roads in locations that are not suitable for the installation of an Automatic Traffic Count.

BasePoint Data undertake video surveys and analysis on a daily basis for a range of clients.

BasePoint Data has invested significantly in a range of state of the art digital camera systems to provide our clients with accurate, reliable survey information in a format that can be widely distributed and stored or viewed on any Windows based PC

Our standard day/night high resolution infra red digital cameras come equipped with image stabilisation and a motion detection capability should our clients not require a continuous image recorded. The 50 metre range on the infra red allows the system to be used in a zero light environment and still maintain an excellent picture quality improving the reliability of any data analysed from the image.

In addition, should our clients require it, we have a small number of full 1080p HD portable video cameras. These offer stunning picture quality and are suitable for a small number of specialist roles where the quality of the recorded image is of priority rather than the image analysis.

All our camera systems are rigorously checked to ensure high levels of reliability while investment in the latest technology allows clients to receive data of the highest quality.

Our camera systems are mounted on ground standing telescopic poles using suitable street furniture for support. No weight or load is transferred to the street furniture.

BasePoint has a range of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras together with access to the software and experienced analysts needed to analyse this often complex data and present the data in a meaningful and easy to understand format.

As an alternative to ANPR we are able to carry out manual registration recording and matching.

BasePoint Data can undertake journey time surveys of any type or description in line with our client requirements.

Using the latest GPS technology or in car video equipment enables us to provide our clients with detailed analysis on journey length and traffic flows. Our GPS units can provide analysis on speed and location at intervals down to one second should our clients require it

BasePoint Data undertakes a wide range of parking surveys from on street parking surveys to length of stay and parking demand surveys for a range of private and local authority clients.

BasePoint can undertake a range of public interview or count surveys from the small scale in a single area to wider and more complex detailed questionnaire based interviews.

BasePoint can undertake a range of bus, rail or air passenger interview surveys together with passenger flow counts to assist authorities in their infrastructure planning and staff or asset management.
